“In The Cut” Week 4: Fantasy Resort 2012

I just couldn’t decide which picture I wanted to use: the blurry photo that I love because this guy got such a pleasant surprise when walking out of the restaurant kitchen next door or the other blurry picture with a seriously sassy model. Ok, who wants to be my photographer?!

Every year around late Spring I start to get stir crazy for a day at the beach. I start swimsuit shopping in January and if I get one day of 70 degree weather you will find me sitting in a plastic pool in my backyard. While my beach trip is going to have to wait, on Tuesday I got to dream about it while at Suite 200 for week four of the In The Cut fashion series. With a very fitting Fantasy Resort theme it took every ounce of self control not to pull out my wallet and start buying entire collections!

Jus Honey by Jeanele Lois

Specializing in swimwear, Jeanele killed it this week! As I watched her prep her models I couldn’t help but think that each swimsuit would be perfect to add to my collection. Two of her pieces were very reminiscent of 1950s silhouettes with vibrant, modern colors as well as a classic white Marilyn Monroe-esque number while her bright blue one-piece with leopard print accent challenge look felt very “LA pool-side Sexy” (it’s a trend, I swear). Once Jeanele’s models got on the runway, everything from the swimsuits down to the shoes and accessories made me drool.

While making last minute alterations, cutting and sewing, Jeanele was kind enough to give me a few minutes of her time for a quick chat. She is super down-to-earth and is very conscious of the female form making it a point to create looks that will flatter all figures. Jeanele, put my number in your back pocket because I have just become your newest fan (and soon your newest client)!

Glamyr

You may remember Kelly of Glamyr from week two of In The Cut. Instead of going the swimwear route, Kelly created some casual-hip looks for when you are ready to grab cocktails at a local hotspot. It’s fun, it’s sexy and her models looked great! I just might have to get this little animal print get up.

Kitty Krell

Kitty brought some amazing renaissance designs but I have to admit that I did not understand the connection between the Fantasy Resort theme and the very renaissance designs. Nevertheless, the craftsmanship was flawless and there were a few pieces that could have been worn separately with a graphic tee and skinny jeans (namely, the grey button up vest). Visit her Etsy shop to see some gorgeous handmade corsets and check out her facebook page to get a look at the other amazing garments she creating!

Well, another week down and three to go! Thanks for sticking around throughout this fashion series and I can’t wait for the Finale!
